Angry At God's Love??


​​Remember Jonah? He's the prophet from the Old Testament who was swallowed by a great fish after running away from what God wanted him to do. Then, after Jonah finally obeyed God and told the sinful and horrible people of Nineveh about God's coming judgment Jonah became angry at God. Why? Because Jonah believed God was loving! He says in Jonah 4 that the reason he ran away from God in the first place is because "I knew that You are a merciful and compassionate God, slow to become angry, rich in faithful love, and One who relents from sending disaster." What?? Jonah was angry at God for SAVING the Ninevites? From a human point of view he was more than justified - but God sees things differently. Here's the truth we need to hear. The Ninevites deserved God's wrath and punishment - and so do we. They did NOT deserve God's grace and mercy - and neither do we. The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and rich in faithful love. (Read More) There is nothing special about us. There IS something special about God.
